Watched and Worried Men:
King Philip’s War in Framingham
Although many think of the “Eames Massacre” as an unprovoked act of violence, this perception is one-sided, and unfair. What has been cast as a random, brutal attack was in reality a wartime encounter between long-time neighbors. So how did King Philip’s War turn neighbors to violence? And how many victims did this event really claim? This exhibit casts light on the pieces of the story that have remained in the dark and the consequences that reverberate into modern Framingham.
Framingham’s Top 10
Among the rows of storage shelves and tucked away in archival boxes lie the most important artifacts housed at the Framingham History Center. Ten of these precious objects have been chosen by the curator and the community for an exhibition designed to reinforce the local, national, and international significance of the FHC’s collection. Spanning three hundred years, with objects as small as a pin to as large as a billboard, this exhibit has something for everyone – art, documents, clothing, Americana, music, and neon.
Framingham Top 10

Framingham Biographies
This collection of biographies has been compiled by FHC volunteers Jane Whiting, Dawne Buckley, Martha Davidson, Dana Ricciardi, and Pat Lavin. The purpose of this project is to highlight individuals – farmers, businessmen and women, inventors, teachers, artists, soldiers, philanthropists, etc. – who help to tell the larger story of Framingham’s rich history.
